2019 – RENAULT ZOE

The compact Zoe, the best selling electric in Europe, begins to be sold on November 6 in Brazil. The model arrives in the Intense version, with a suggested price of R $ 149,990. Two dealers, Sinal, in São Paulo, and Globo, in Curitiba, will have test-drive cars shortly after the São Paulo Show and will sell Zoe. The Zoe has a range of more than 300 kilometers (WLTP cycle), thanks to the ZE 40 battery. Plugged into a 3-phase 22 kW, the vehicle only takes 1h40 to reach 80% of its total load. The ZE 40 battery was developed based on an important innovation: increasing the energy density by increasing the storage capacity of the battery, maintaining the size, more advanced solution also to respect the limitation in relation to weight gain. The Zoe features a highly energy efficient motor and optimized electronic battery management, limiting the electric consumption of the vehicle in use, while maintaining power. Launched in early 2015, the R90 is a 100% Renault engine. Since the launch, Zoe is the flagship of Renault ZE technology, representing the Group’s electrical excellence. Among the highlights of this technology are regenerative braking and heat pump, which maximize autonomy. All Renault series electric vehicles are designed and designed by the designers and engineers of the Technocentre Renault, located in Guyancourt (Paris region), being produced in the Group’s factories corvette c5 car covers. This electrical expertise is concentrated mainly in France, where the design and production with high added value is carried out. Renault is responsible for the design and production of Zoe and most of its mechanical systems. Zoe is the first car designed in Europe exclusively for 100% electric technology. Zoe is produced at the Renault factory of Flins (Paris region).

The ZOE R90 engine was completely conceived by Renault, resulting in the deposit of 95 patents. One of the biggest innovations of this development is the miniaturization of the Power Electronic Controller, to integrate the interconnection module, the power electronics and the Caméléon charger, with a volume 25% smaller than the previous motor. The R90 engine is produced at the Renault de Cléon (Normandy region) factory, where the Group concentrates the production of high added value engines and gearboxes (Energy engines, Renault Sport engines, etc.). The crankcase that allows to integrate the battery in the car and the front and rear axles of the Zoe are part of the mechanical systems 100% Renault. Designed by the Renault Group Chassis and Electric Vehicles Engineering, they are produced at the Le Mans Renault factory (Sarthe region). Driving a Renault electric vehicle is unbelievably surprising as the accelerations and resumes are vigorous even at lower engine speeds without any engine noise or vibrations.

The Zoe is an agile, easy-to-maneuver and pleasant vehicle when driven, thanks to a chassis adapted to the specifics of the vehicle and the work done in adjusting the steering, tires and shock absorbers. In a fraction of a second, the R90 electric motor delivers a maximum torque of 225 Nm, allowing agile accelerations and restarts even at low revs. The acceleration goes from 0 to 50 km / h – most frequent track in urban use – in 4 seconds. The acceleration is fluid, perfectly linear and without jerks. From the point of view of the driver, it is as if he had the best automatic transmission on the market. In parallel, the electric nature of the Zoe provides a quieter ride mainly thanks to the absence of engine noise and vibrations. The sound measured in the cabin of the Zoe between 40 and 75 km / h is 60 to 65 dB, which is 2 to 3 times smaller when compared to a thermal vehicle of equivalent power. Renault has sold more than 150 100% electric vehicles in Brazil to companies such as Itaipu, Fedex, TransportadoraPatrus and Natura, among others.
